MARRIAGE the meeting point of CULTURE.. Age GAP?

Yestesday i was going to one of my friend's wedding at Traders Hotel. i'm quite suprised because he married with the one he love eventhough both of them got different culture but what ever is it, Congratulation to him. Seriously i'm quite suprised. But the only thing that i'm regret was on the big picture there was a barrier between them. What i mean is not the couple but the family members ya la.. malay culture and also the indian culture.. i dont how to say it.. but for me it's ok as a start of the meeting point of this culture. Hopefully he's not shock. i pray for him.

Marriage is an instituation where people gain trust each other, love each other, caring each other and many others that i can't think right now..haha.. and the important thing it's not just only the S** words..hehe..

For those not married yet including me..hehe.. Find happiness for yourself..don't put a gap (culture) as a reason.. BUT there's parents that still do the force married in order to fullfill their desire especially for their daughter. It's ok if their daughter accept it but she won't accept it..
Think about it..
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Personally i prefer an age gap between 5 to 6 years as the man (hopefully) will be matured enough to handle the relationship and the women will be still in a suitable age to be pamper and receive the proper attension as deserve.

In Asia culture age is the one of the consideration in a marriage, usually the wife (first wife as reference) is either same age as of a few younger couple compare to husband. Now days age gap is no more big issue and people are open minded that elderly female with a younger male is consider tolarable in many society.

With medical advancement and healthier life style, many do not look at their age and it is hard to gauge a person age by their appearance and with modern education and equality women no long subject to external elements for marriage but more in to compatibility.

Trust True FriendsHip ?

Everyone in this world wants a true friendship and many of us believe that we have a friend who can be called a true friend. Do u believe in true friendship? Some of us may also not believe on it. For them there are no friend that can be called true friend.

For those believed, what kind of relations do friends share? When can we call a friend a true friend, and when can our friends take us as their true friend.

The very first sign of a very good friend, not necessarily a true friend is that we are not worried about courtesies. You will call your friend at any hour and talk without any thought of time in your mind. Similarly, whenever you need support, you will call a very good friend and ask him/her to help you out. They expect the same from you.

Another important trait of such relations is that we are not much worried about exposing ourselves. We speak about everything in our mind without worrying about what our friends will think. We are sure that they will take our talk in the spirit it was made. We are unguarded and open with friends in our talk.

A true friend is a little more than a very good friend. A true friend will support you even if it hurts his/her own interest.

A true friend will understand your motives and needs and will be with you without any analysis or criticism.

A true friend will come forward to help without any request and be with us in need without showing it or expecting anything in return. With a true friend, you can be sure that you will get help to the extent possible by him/her. Nothing will remain unturned.

A mother is a true friend of her children. If we share such relations with an adult we can say that we are true friends.

A true friend makes no excuses of having work or appointments or anything but will be with you whenever you need him/her. In your hour of desperation, a true friend will support you even if the whole world opposes you.

A true friend is not an opportunist. A true friend means to have someone who is like mother, as I said earlier. Instead of having hundreds of good friends, if you have a true friend, treat yourself lucky. If you can also become a true friend of someone, you will be blessed, because it is much easier for all of us to expect but very difficult to give.

Be a true friend yourself first.

Meaningful, Worthwhile & Fulfilled Life ..

Life is short. We should make the best of every single moment to live our life to the maximum. We must make the best of all available resources within our reach (and without), to increase the quality and to better our life and the lives of others.

We should constantly and continuously improve ourself by learning new things, increasing our knowledge, making the best of our talents, and broaden our perspective about life in general. We need to have an open mind and good foresights.

We need to do our best in all our endeavours ("what is worth doing is worth doing well"). No half-hearted effort or "try try". Either we do it with our best effort, or we let others do it. Knowing that we have given of our best, will greatly increase our self-worth and integrity as an individual. And with proper moral standards and principles of behaviour, we can live with dignity and respect.

Remember: Someone wise once said, "Plan our life as though we are going to live forever; And live our life as though we are dying tomorrow!"

As we grow mature or older, with sufficient experience and wisdom, we could live a truly meaningful, worthwhile and fulfilled life. Happiness will come naturally.

The Tipping PoinT..

Tipping points are "the levels at which the momentum for change becomes unstoppable".Gladwell defines a tipping point as a sociological term: "the moment of critical mass, the threshold, the boiling point."The book seeks to explain and describe the "mysterious" sociological changes that mark everyday life. As Gladwell states, "Ideas and products and messages and behaviors spread like viruses do(epidemics)."The examples of such changes in his book include the rise in popularity and sales of Hush Puppies shoes in the mid-1990s and the precipitous drop in the New York City crime rate after 1990.

Gladwell uses all of these to illustrate what he defines as the three principles of social epidemics: the law of the few, the stickiness factor, and the power of context.

The Law of Few
The law of the few is roughly comparable to the 80/20 rule, that 20% of the people do 80% of the work. Gladwell attributes the success of social epidemics to the efforts of three types of individuals: connectors, mavens, and salesmen.

Connectors are people who because of their personalities and their ability to exist in numerous worlds and cultivate weak-ties with a variety of individuals, make the world a smaller place by bringing people together. They are the ones responsible for the six degrees of separation theory.

Mavens are shoppers. It doesn't matter what the market is - cars, computers, clothes - the maven is the person with her finger on the pulse of the industry, the early adopter. Mavens accumulate knowledge about the industry; the maven is the guy in the cubicle next to yours who knows exactly what the next version of the iPod is going to look like and do. He's also the guy who has one first.

Salesmen are people who through the shear persuasiveness of their personalities are able to sell ideas, products, practices without even trying. We buy what they buy and do what they do because they make it seem so appealing, and we just want to be more like them.

The Stickiness Factor
the specific content of a message that renders its impact memorable. Popular children's television programs such as Sesame Street and Blue's Clues pioneered the properties of the stickiness factor, thus enhancing the effective retention of the educational content in tandem with its entertainment value.

The Power of Context
Gladwell's third principal is the power of context, the notion that epidemics are sensitive to the context, or the time and place, in which they occur. In a compelling example of how during the 1990's the crime rate in New York City dropped precipitously and without explanation, Gladwell points to something called the Broken Windows theory, theory of two criminologists based upon the notion that, "if a window is broken and left unrepaired, people walking by will conclude that no one cares and no one is in charge. Soon, more windows will bee broke, and the sense of anarchy will spread from the building to the street on which it faces, sending a a signal that anything goes."

The Tipping Point is a powerful and fascinating book that cuts across a variety of fields of interest. Within, Gladwell constructs and details ideas that change the way we perceive social trends we might not otherwise think to question.

**nota kaki berbulu**i'm interested that people are divided into three categories. The connectors , The mavens and The salesman. What do you think about it? which group you into?
we know our personality better than others but sometimes we unconscious on what we are?
am i right?...

Turning PoinT..

Life has so many turning points. Each turning point involves a choice, a decision to be made.

Why not be at your best? You can be at your best, not only meeting these turning points with excellent, beneficial decisions, but also your super conscious insight will reveal the turning point to you before it occurs.

Your faculty of creative intelligence prepares you again and again to make the best, the very best, of your decades on planet earth. With this special insight you can see the finest direction and course for the furtherance of your life.

Without this super conscious insight there is a blindness of your whole being much more profound than that of not having eyes. It is a blindness of mind and soul. We are, in this state, not capable of seeing the way to fulfillment or lasting happiness.

What wouldn't you give to be able to make excellent decisions? What would it be worth to choose wisely, to know how best to meet your challenges, to know when to act and when to be quiet, to know when to move and when to wait? You can have superconscious insight. You can experience this creative intelligence every day if you learn how to contact your higher consciousness.

10 Commandments for Success in Life

Here are ten points gleaned from the writings of Sri Swami Sivananda, which can lead any individual towards success in their chosen path in life. These guidelines have the power to benefit you - physically, mentally and spiritually.

1. Have a simple and unassuming manner of life.

2. Live not to eat, but eat to live.

3. Bear no envy. Commit no slander. Speak no falsehood. Practise no deceit. Harbor no malice. You will be ever joyful, happy and peaceful.

4. Righteousness is the rule of life. Lead a virtuous life.

5. Cultivate a melting heart, the giving hand, the kindly speech, the life of service, equal vision, and impartial attitude. Your life will, indeed, be blessed.

6. Lead a regulated life. Take hold of each day as if it were the last day, and utilize every second in prayer, meditation and service. Let your life become a continuous sacrifice to God.

7. Live in the present. Forget the past. Give up hopes of the future.

8. Understand well the meaning of life, and then start the quest.

9. Life is thy greatest gift. Utilize every second profitably.

10. Success often comes to those who dare and act. It seldom comes to the timid.

May you all attain success in life!

Where is the Happiness?

One day, the young lion asked his mom: "Mom, where is the happiness?"

Mom replied: "It's on your tail."

So the young lion keeps on chasing after his tail. But after a whole day of trying, he failed to get the happiness that was on his tail.

Then he told his mom about this, his mom smiled and said: "Son, you don't really need to chase after your happiness, as long as you keep going and moving forward, your happiness will always be with you."

I love this when I received this from one of my friends. Sometimes I keep on asking myself why I am not happy? Yes. I have strongly feeling that I am not happy. But what is the main reason make me feeling unhappy? I am sure that will not be only one but plenty of small and little little things that I feeling not right.

I am the one make myself feeling unhappily. Instead of keep on asking myself why I am not happy, why not change and thinking on why to keep on my happiness?

Wish everyone of you find your happiness.

Wish the happiness is with them always.

A Good Friend...

A good friend is always kind,
Should always speak their mind,
Their compassion should never end,
That's what it takes to be a good friend.
A good friend is there for you,
They are real, they are true- blue,
Their compassion should never end,
That's what it takes to be a good friend.
A good friend will be there when you marry,
A heart full of memories, they will carry,
Their compassion should never end,
That's what it takes to be a good friend.
They'll be there if your mother dies,
They'll weep with you when you cry,
Their compassion should never end,
That's what it takes to be a good friend.
If a good friend you do find,
Make sure they treat you kind,
Understanding they shouldn't lack,
And they would never stab you in the back,
On top of everything always remember,
A best friend is forever.

Don't Blame Smokers

A small (belated) disclaimer about the cigarette poem in response to a few comments. I don't blame smokers for smoking. I hate that there is an addictive product out there being marketed to them. I have friends trying to quit and having a hard time. It bugs me that people are getting rich causing harm to others. Anyway, this isn't an anti SMOKER poem, it's an anti smoking poem.
